Dear fathers, brothers, and sisters of the MDCS,

Welcome to Dayton and the 2010 Synod of the Missionary Diocese of the Central States! We are looking forward to having you visit us and have some wonderful plans to make your stay in Dayton both productive and pleasant.

The synod this year is being hosted by the people of Christ The King Anglican Church and our new plant, Christ Our Hope Anglican Church. All meetings will be held at Christ the King Anglican Church, 925 North Main Street, Dayton.

Here are a few matters that call for your attention as we get ready to assemble together:

Hotel Information

1. A bloc of rooms has been set aside for us at The Fairfield Inn by Marriott on Miller Lane in Dayton. The special rate secured is $70.00 per night plus tax (unless you have a tax exempt number that you use.)

You can also call The Fairfield Inn at (937)898-1120 direct to reserve your room which is blocked under Reformed Episcopal Church. There is a free shuttle from the Dayton International Airport to the motel.

The Fairfield Inn offers complimentary breakfast each morning and also provides a free light dinner on Wednesday evenings only which you are welcome to take advantage of when you arrive on Wednesday.

According to the hotel, there are approximately 10-12 nice restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, all of which offer a 10-15% discount with your Fairfield Inn keycard.

Registration for Synod

Establishment of Diocesan Synod Fund:
Bishop Morse has approved the estblishment of a fund to cover the expenses of future meetings. To that end, a registration fee of $35 per person will be collected at this synod, deposited in the fund, and be available to the congregation that will be hosting next year's synod, and so on, in perpetuity. This will allow congregations that might not otherwise be able to afford the expenses of hosting a synod, to do so without the constraint of worrying about the money. Checks made payable to the "Diocese of the Central States" will be collected during synod check-in.

Using the form helps ensure the transmission the necessary information. You may register up to six different individuals on a single form.

If you are unable to use the form for any reason, Please send the following information for each and every individual attending from your congregation to Deacon Dave Abshear at:

Banquet on Thursday

We have arranged a wonderful banquet and entertainment for you on Thursday evening at the historic and beautiful Dayton Woman's Club:

  • It will be a buffet-style dinner, with a carving station and cash bar.
  • The price will be $35 per person.
  • Please make banquet checks payable to "Christ the King Anglican Church" and be ready to give them to our volunteer during synod check-in first thing Thursday morning.
  • Persons not registering for the synod but attending the banquet only may sign up for the banquet by sending a message to Deaconess Candy Jacques at:

Summary of Costs and Required Payments

There is a registration fee of $35 per person. Checks made payable to the "Diocese of the Central States" will be collected during synod check-in. (Everyone but our synod volunteers pay.)

The price of the banquet will be $35 per person. Please make banquet checks payable to "Christ the King Anglican Church" will be collected during synod check-in. (Everyone who eats, pays.)
